Israeli Dancing
Our speciality, making people dance!

The Hora is a great way to liven up any party, whether wedding, Barmitzvah or just a plain olí party.

We play all the classic tunes in our lively way, keeping people moving until they canít go on...
All the classics are here: Hava Nagila, Simontov, Aveinu Shalom, Od Yavo Shalom Aleinu.
We have a huge repertoire of modern Jewish favourites, from MBD and Fried to Carlebach and beyond.
We also have a great selection of Mizrahi and Sephardi tunes for dancing.

At The Chuppah
The Matzoh Boys will set the atmosphere as your guests arrive, with evocative tunes from our repertoire.

The Matzoh Boys then perform traditional tunes to accompany the arrival of the groom and bride, and during the wedding ceremony.

We are happy to play instrumentally during the Chuppah, or with a cantor - we can also recommend one.

Suggestions for traditional pieces during the service are:
  • For the arrival of the Groom
    • Mehera
    • Araber Tanz
  • For the arrival of the Bride
    • Boi Ví'shalom
    • Erev Shel Shoshanim
  • For the circling of the Groom by the Bride
    • Eshet Chail
  • Before the breaking of the glass
    • Im Eskachech
  • After the breaking of the glass
    • Simontov & Mazeltov

After Dinner Dancing
The Matzoh Boys is not just a klezmer band...

Our original members met whilst performing in a great soul band in Manchester.
In London we joined forces with the rhythm section from legendary Latin club Guanabara.
We sought out the best soul, jazz and pop singers in the country.

The result is the Matzoh Boys party band, playing the best soul, jazz, funk, and latin music you'll hear this side of the Atlantic!

We also have a full contemporary repertoire, including the very latest dancefloor favourites.

Our line up is very flexible, depending on what you'd like to dance to. We have an amazing team of male and female singers, plus a rapper. Our horn section can grow to include smoky saxophone and trembling trombone from the amazing Full Fat Horns

Barmitzvahs
The Matzoh Boys provide a fantastic soundtrack to your celebration.
We get everyone of all ages dancing the Hora, and we can also provide a dance instructor, a party band & a DJ.

For those children who play musical instruments, we love to get them on the stage performing with the band.
We can organise rehearsals before the event and create arrangements tailored to their instrumental level.
